BCI Statewide Criminal Records for Bountiful Residents

The Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification maintains a statewide criminal history database that covers all criminal cases filed across Utah, including Bountiful criminal court records. The BCI report is the most complete source for a person's full Utah criminal history because it draws from all jurisdictions statewide, not just Bountiful. Contact BCI at bci.utah.gov/criminal-records or by phone at 801-965-4445.

As of July 2025, BCI charges a $20 fee per individual criminal history report. Reports include felony convictions, misdemeanor convictions, dismissed cases, and other court dispositions from courts across Utah. Bountiful residents can request a report by mail or in person at the BCI office. The report covers the person's entire Utah record, not just cases filed in Bountiful or Davis County.

The Utah Department of Corrections maintains a separate offender search tool at corrections.utah.gov for individuals currently incarcerated or under supervision statewide.

Expungement of Bountiful Criminal Court Records

Utah's Clean Slate law allows for automatic expungement of qualifying criminal records after a waiting period, provided the person has no new convictions. Not every offense qualifies. More serious charges require a manual petition filed through the court where the case was heard. Learn more about eligibility at cleanslateutah.org.

For records that do not qualify under the automatic Clean Slate process, Bountiful residents can petition the court directly. The BCI issues a certificate of eligibility before any petition can be filed. Visit bci.utah.gov/expungements to review eligibility rules and start the process. Once expungement is granted, the Bountiful criminal court records tied to that case are sealed and removed from public view. They no longer appear in XChange searches or on BCI reports issued to the general public.
